Who Pays For What?
SERVICES FUNDED BY PHYSICAL PLANT SERVICES THROUGH THE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET
Physical Plant Services receives a budget allocation to operate and maintain facilities which are directly related to the teaching, research, and extension missions of OSU. All general university buildings are funded in this manner. Types of services normally provided include:
SERVICES CHARGED TO REQUESTING DEPARTMENT
Physical Plant Services does not receive a budget allocation for many services and must charge the requesting department for those services. Requesting department must complete a Work Order Request Form. The following types of services are a partial list of those paid for by the requesting department:
- Special custodial services such as clean-up after events
- Set-ups for events
- Design and construction or remodel or new work associated with a Campus Order Request
- Non-maintenance related painting of offices and other non-public spaces
- Departmental equipment maintenance and repair for items such as, but not limited to: stills, fume hoods, dedicated air-conditioning systems, autoclaves, environmental chambers, freezers, generators, and vacuum pumps
- Special Architecture / Engineering work such as studies, programming efforts, etc.
