Date: June 2009
Description: Late morning of June 12, Stillwater was hit by a huge hail storm! We got a few pics of the baseball sized hail that fell.

Date: December 2004
Description: This rainbow was captured December 6 at around 5pm here at the Physical Plant. The parking lot was already empty, but the sky was full of color. Although the photos have been digitally corrected for darkness, the red hue of the sky was caused by cloud cover in the west which obscured the sunset (sorry--no photos of that!). The combination of low clouds and the angle of the sun created a rainbow with extremely vivid colors and definition. Unfortunately, it dissipated very quickly, and I was only able to capture the final moments of the arc.

Date: June 2004
Description: A torrential downpour caught everyone by surprise this June afternoon around 3. The sky quickly became dark as rain-heavy billowy clouds rolled in. Sheets of rain quickly drenched the ground. In some photos, you can see the lens flares caused by the raindrops refracting and reflecting the flash. Then, almost as quickly as it had started, it was over.
