Constructing a new Water TowerStartMay 2009EndMay 2010DescriptionAs part of the revitalization of the OSU Water Treatment Plant, one of the key components is the new 500,000 gallon water storage tower. Last winter, new water lines were installed to service the tower, and the foundation was poured. Maguire Iron, Inc., of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, put together the large steel panels that make up the tower. The dozens of large steel panels delivered from the factory were welded together into four major parts. Once ready, the stem, bowl bottom, and bowl top were hoisted into place. | |
