Hazard Communication Training Sessions:

The next training will take place in late March, 2008.

One of the most important elements of the Hazard Communication Program is the training of employees. The significance of employee training becomes evident when an employee is needlessly harmed by a chemical or some hazardous process that could have been avoided with proper employee training. The Federal and State Hazard Communication Standards mandate that all employees shall receive Hazard Communication training.

To serve the needs of the University Community, the Environmental Health & Safety Department conducts a Train-the-Trainer session at least once a year for personnel of campus departments. Supervisors or key departmental personnel who are responsible for the training of departmental employees need to attend this session.

Environmental Health and Safety also offers general Hazard Communication training for all departments at OSU. In order for the Hazard Communication training requirement to be met, each department shall conduct site-specific training for the chemicals in their workplace.

Please call the EHS office at 4-7241 for any questions regarding these training sessions.
