Employee Hazcom Training

Each University department shall designate an employee who will oversee its Hazard Communication program and conduct department-specific training for all members of that department.

These trainers will receive their training at special "Train-The-Trainer" seminars conducted by the Environmental Health & Safety Department.

Training Shall be Conducted:

  • Within 30 Days of Initial Assignment
  • Whenever New Hazards Are Introduced
  • Annual Review Is Required

Employees must be informed of:

  • Requirements of Regulations
  • Any Operations in Their Area Where Hazardous Chemicals Are Used
  • Location and Availability of MSDS and Plan

Training Must Cover:

  • Method to Detect Presence of Release
  • Physical and Health Hazards
  • Measures for Personal Protection
  • Details of Company Plan

Conduct an Open Book Test open book
