Transmitted herewith is the integrated Emergency Operations Plan for Oklahoma State University. This plan incorporates where possible current agency plans and therefore supersedes any previous emergency management plan(s) promulgated by any department, work unit, or agency of the University. Oklahoma State University is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of persons, and protection of property, on the OSU campus should an emergency occur. This plan has been developed as a guide for reacting to major emergencies and disasters that may have the potential to cause significant disruption to the normal operation of the University. The document & plan is not all-inclusive but is intended to provide for a systematic response to emergencies. It is the policy and procedure of the University that in the event of a major emergency or disaster, University personnel and equipment will be utilized to respond to the emergency. The purpose of the response is to protect life, preserve the property and structures of the University, restore requisite utilities to assure adequate quality of life issues, and then restore the University to full function. This planning document provides a framework through which the University, City of Stillwater, and the Payne County Emergency Service Providers can plan and perform their respective emergency functions during a disaster or national emergency. This plan recognizes the need for ongoing Emergency Management Planning. Emergency Management Planning is a dynamic action that occurs in conjunction with other city, county and state agencies to protect the safety of the faculty, staff, students, visiting citizens and property of the University. This plan is in accordance with existing Federal, State and local statutes. The National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System are incorporated into the plan and will be implemented in the event of an emergency. It has been concurred with and approved by the Senior Administration of Oklahoma State University, the OSU Board of Regents, and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management. It will be revised and updated as required. All recipients are requested to advise the University Emergency Management Coordinator of any changes that might result in its improvement or increase its usefulness. |
